Writing Standards

At this point in your educational career, you should have a good idea of some basic writing standards. If you don't, that's okay - just refer to this page if you are ever unsure of how you should format your work. I can be pretty picky about these things, so make sure you read the following carefully!

  • Whether you handwrite your work or type it up on a computer, ALWAYS double-space your work. It makes it much easier for others to read, and it's easier to correct if I have some room in between the lines to write feedback!
  • Unless it's a special project, compositions and assignments should be submitted on 8 1/2" by 11" size paper.
  • When typing assignments, use 12-point sized font. Always. Also, you should only use Times New Roman font or Helvetica font for compositions. Please don't use comic sans (unless you are writing a comic book).
  • Always ensure that your name, class, and date are included on your assignments
